A year in review: 2022 highlights

CDE manager for RECREATE

Gm and CBA is a communication, dissemination and exploitation partner of Horizon Europe project called RECREATE. This project focuses on the development and the implementation of  innovative technologies for circular reuse and remanufacturing of fiber-reinforced composite materials. 

At the second consortium meeting in Bilbao we contributed by organising several workshops related to internal and external communication and dissemination of project results as well as to risk management of the project.

Slovenian Institute for Standardisation (SIST)

In early 2022 we developed a communication strategy in the support of the new national standardisation strategy for SIST, the Slovenian Institute for Standardisation . We provided the support to the implementation of the communication strategy by actively engaging key stakeholders and ambassadors of standardisation in Slovenia.

Initiating the sustainability reporting at Salonit Group

As a part of Salonit Anhovo’s active commitment to decarbonisation of the cement production the Group initiated sustainability reporting process. Gm offered expertise and advisory support to the initial cycle of the reporting process and the development of the Group’s sustainability strategy.

A circular SMILE for craft brewers

Since the beginning of the year Gm and CBA engaged with other partners form Germany, Ireland, Lithuania, Spain and Sweden in the development of a training and capacity building method for small breweries who want to explore circular opportunities. The training approach will become a certified method,  similar to the initial training course available at the SMILE website listed down below.

Circular business models for the Alpine Space

In autumn 2022 the Interreg Alpine Space project CIRCULAR4.0 has been concluded. CBA has provided a significant expert contribution developing the trainers program as well as a professional training course on the circular transformation for SMEs. Our experts supported more than a dozen firms through their initial steps of the circular transformation. You can explore the Circularity Assessment Score (CAS4.0) on our website.

In March we organized Circularity Acceleration Training 4.0 for SMEs.  You can find more information about this course at our past events on our website.

Advisory with META Group

META Group, Gm’s strategic partner, is a leading European advisory firm in the field of exploitation of R&D results and the design of innovation ecosystems. Through the year of 2022 we have been supporting innovative startups in Istria at the Creative incubator at St. Lucia (Lucija) near Portorose (Portorož), and in partnership with Sežana Inkubator, with whom we realized the 2nd edition of the Scaleup Academy. We have been engaging with RADIANT Horizon project aiming to identify and develop innovative market approaches for underutilized crops across the EU with health-related, nutritional, and other beneficial effects on sustainability.

GO!2025 and the Forum

Gm supported the Italian-Slovenian Forum in bringing together entrepreneurs from the Italian and Slovenian part of Goriška, or Provincia di Gorizia, interested in taking part at the European Capital of Culture hosted by Nova Gorica and Gorizia in the year 2025. There is still so much to do for a successful engagement of the entrepreneurial sector to this manifestation…!

Modular course on sustainability reporting

In March we organized a three-module Sustainability Reporting Course carried out in cooperation with SRIP Circular Economy. We provided comprehensive guidelines and up-to-date best practice for the implementation of sustainability strategies and reporting process, based on GRI standard.

The World of brown and green

At the Coface partners meeting in Ljubljana in December 2022 CBA founder Jurij Giacomelli participated as one of the speakers together with the host Sergej Simoniti, CEO, Olga Sharkova, both Coface Slovenia, and Slobodan Šešum (on the picture from the left), Ministry of Foreign Affairs. He addressed the contrast of interest between economic players pertaining to either a “brown” or “green” which hinders the pace of sustainability innovation and the green transition.
